Fantastic video & thank you for posting it, Robert! A quick question here: do you know if citizens & residents of all countries are eligible for Upwork? Greetings from Taipei, Taiwan! 🙂

  • Joseph Uyemura says:

I there a way to only show the client your state and country?

    • Freelance Translator Tips says:

Do you mean as opposed to your full address? As far as I know, you need to provide upwork with your address but they don’t show it to anyone. Mine just shows a map with a general area.

    • Joseph Uyemura says:

@Freelance Translator Tips I was just wondering wether or not people would get my exact location. Thank you!

    • Freelance Translator Tips says:

@Joseph Uyemura Try going to https://www.upwork.com/o/profiles/users/_~01762c9180e12afc40/ and you’ll see my profile. As you can see, the map just points to the center of Charlotte, although that’s not where I live. I think it just pinpoints the center of whatever city you mention. Also, it’s pretty zoomed out so there’s no way people can see where the exact address is (and regardless, it’s not even in the center).

  • jalabi99 says:

When it asks for your username, can you type in your company name?

    • Freelance Translator Tips says:

As far as I know, you can choose any username you want. Although, I should say that it might turn people off if you have a company name. If I am looking for a freelancer and I see a company name, I might think it’s an agency (which usually farms out the work to different people and costs more). In fact many people specify they don’t want agencies. So it might be best to appear as a freelancer rather than an agency. Anyway, the choice is yours. Hope this helps!

    • jalabi99 says:

It does help! Even though I do have a company, I will be using my personal name for my Upwork profile. Thank you!

Kudos for the Video clip! Sorry for butting in, I am interested in your opinion. Have you researched – Tarbbatigan Imaginable life Tip (do a search on google)? It is a great one of a kind product for making more money on the internet without the normal expense. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my friend Sam at last got great success with it.

  • Jeff Long says:

I accide.nlty signed up as a client but need to be a freelancer. I tried to re sign up but it says “Email is already being used” and of course its my email but as a client! I have no idea how to cancel my client version on upwork, they dont seem to make this very easy to do

  • EXCOL, LLC Taxes & Bookkeeping says:

I’m having trouble entering the street. You the field for “Street”, well when I hover over it I’m not able to add anything but when I click on continue it tells me that field is required but it’s not letting me add anything in the first place. Do you know why this is happening?

    • Freelance Translator Tips says:

Oh wow that’s weird. I have no idea. Did you try different browsers? If it still doesn’t work, I would click on “Help” (in the bottom right there is usually a button), and ask Upwork why it isn’t working.

    • EXCOL, LLC Taxes & Bookkeeping says:

@Freelance Translator Tips Oh good idea, I’ll try it in a different browser and ask them for help if necessary.

  • Abin simkhada says:

instead of wor email can I sue my gmail account?

    • Freelance Translator Tips says:

Sure you can! Upwork doesn’t let you share your email address, so it shouldn’t matter for the end client I don’t think.

  • Dr. M V says:

I’m hesitant to create an account because it prompts me for a “work email” in response to me typing in my Gmail account – which is my preferred email account for convenience. Should I create a new email account with a domain different from Gmail? If so, how do I do that for free? I’m hoping it doesn’t matter.

    • Freelance Translator Tips says:

That is odd. I confess Upwork seems to have been changing their requirements lately. It seems odd they would require you to have another domain if you are registered as a freelancer. Did you register as an agency or company? Maybe try asking someone in the help section. It doesn’t seem right that you’d have to purchase a domain and set up an email there in order to sign up for upwork. Sorry I can’t be of more help! Please let me know if you get any update on this!
