*Disclaimer*
Please note that the Auto Translate function by YouTube provides translations of very poor quality and I suggest to only use it very sparingly. I always offer people to subtitle the videos into their native language if they want to build up a portfolio. In that case, drop me a message to:

Thanks SO much for this video, Adrian!! Super helpful for both newbies and more experienced translators! I also love what you said about building that human connection with agencies/ clients… A bit of friendly chit-chat goes a long way in building those relationships and making work life more pleasant for both the translator and the PM/ client 🙂 Thank you!!
Glad you liked it! I really do think so, yes. I feel much more comfortable to ask for favours, also for recommendations or testimonials for example, of clients that I have a good human connection with.
@@Freelanceverse Totally! Thanks for drawing attention to this aspect of the freelancing life 🙂
Do your best ❤
That’s all we can do really 🍀
Hello, I’m Luis from Brazil and I speak English and I am considering starting translating freelancing, but I don’t know how to start. I found your channel yesterday and it seems really good and full of quality content!! I’m still 17 and I don’t know how I could start on the industry, as I don’t have any certificates or money to buy paid certifications. How should I start? Thank you for your channel it’s sincerely really amazing!
Thanks for watching, being just 17 you are years ahead of most people 🙂 well done. There are plenty of videos on starting on my channel. I’d suggest you watch the one on the permission paradox to give you an idea how to build a portfolio
I also conduct most of my bussines through email, so I can relate. Thanks for the recommendations, they seem pretty useful and I will make sure to try them out!
Glad you liked it 🙂
What about agencies? Ir I raise my rate they start working with those who offer lower rates
Yes that is the case for many agencies, not all though. The ones I work with will rather overlay the extra charge to the end client than focus on profit maximizatiom
Thank you for sharing your (positive and negative) experiences with clients over the years. Thanks for your tips. That was a very interesting video!
Glad it was helpful thank you for the comment
