Hi Adrian. As you may recall, I have been doing this for 8 years, yet all of a sudden, work has declined drastically. And the worst part is that when I ask my clients for a reason, they seem to sweep it under the carpet!
Sad to hear! What do you mean they sweep it under the rug? What is their reply then?
@@Freelanceverse If they even bother to reply, they tell me they will look into the matter and get back to me. But they never do. One such client is ALM Translations in the UK. In the past, they used to offer me work of between 1000 and 3000 euro every month. Now, if I’m lucky, maybe 300 euro. As with many translators, I’m also starting to consider leaving the language industry 🙁 I wonder if the use of AI in the translation industry has something to do with the work decline for freelance translators?

Salut Adrian, je suis complètement d’accord avec toi : cette négativité ambiante dans le monde de la traduction est déprimante. Sur Linkedin encore, ce matin, j’ai vu la publication d’un traducteur roumain qui s’en plaignait aussi. Je me suis éloignée d’une carrière de 20 ans bien aboutie dans l’enseignement du français (langue première et langue étrangère) et la gestion de cursus de langue pour me tourner vers la traduction académique universitaire et je dois avouer que tous ces commentaires négatifs sur l’IA et les tarifs me désolent aussi. Heureusement que tes vidéos sont là pour apporter un peu d’optimisme, une mine d’informations et de précieux conseils. Quant à toi, je suis convaincue que tu as encore devant toi une longue carrière pleine de succès. Enfin, l’énergie que tu mets dans cette chaîne mérite vraiment d’être reconnue et récompensée !
