Such a concrete example and so insightful. Id love to see more on what you can do as a translator or other type of freelancer on these types of platforms, and if there are any more tips&tricks to follow for success on these sites!

  • Constanza Rabellini says:

Hi there, I am interested in freelance translations while I finish my studies. I am south African so my home Language is English and I am studying medicine in Argentina so my Spanish is pretty good. I don’t have a translators degree or title but would like to know if on fiverr someone like me can use fiverr as a means of an income or is it exclusively for professional translators?

    • Freelanceverse - Adrian Probst says:

Hi Constanza! Thanks for your comment. You can most definitely do that. Especially as a med student you have a very nice niche to work in. Just market yourself as a Spanish-English medical translator, those are in very high demand 🙂 good luck

-The lady who asked if she needs to order, it is because a seller can also make a custom offer and send it to the buyer and the buyer just accepts …

-Fiverr takes 20% of every order you get. And it adds 20% to the buyer… If the price of the order is $5, you’ll get $4 and the buyer will pay $6

Thank you for the videos you are making, they are beneficial. New subscriber 😄

  • Thomas Brandenburg says:

This was very informative and helpful. To put the prices into perspective though, where I live there are MANY digital nomad types doing this sort of work where rent is about 300 euro a month and other costs are trivial. I imagine setting low prices might seem like a race to the bottom for those living in developed countries, but for those of us who have chosen cheap tropical paradises it means a guaranteed comfortable standard of living.

    • Freelanceverse - Adrian Probst says:

Hi Thomas, yes, absolutely, location matters a lot. Still though, people tend to be happy and settle for very little money just because “they don’t need more where they live”. In my opinion, this shouldn’t be the goal of a professional career. By saying this, you basically allow the client to dump prices which harms the whole market. What’s wrong with charging more even than you actually need 😉 It’s not only a race to the bottom for people in developed countries, if we all keep a nice standard and don’t work for peanuts, we all live better.

  • Henry Lermont says:

Hi Adrian, this is a very helpful and informative video, thank you so much.

Thanks for the video mate! loved the information and really appreciated your perspective

  • ScarletDragon says:

This website should have the option to report sellers for devaluating jobs.

I wanted to try background removal, usually prices start in $5 US dollars for 15-20 images. Today I saw someone offering 100 images for the same low price and he’s got more than a thousand votes. Idiots like that ruin it for everyone else. Also, they’re giving away their time for such a low price

    • Freelanceverse - Adrian Probst says:

      🙁

    • Joel The Alien says:

These are people that normally have a very devalued coin like Venezuela or India and yeah it ruins it definitely for people like us that earn in dollars (I’m from Ecuador) and besides my country is a third world country imagine when people want to pay me $5 (and the 20% discount for each Fiverr sales ruins it even more so $4) Horrible in every way! But I made my way to the top and I’m a level two seller now! n.n and I charge very nice amounts for my knowledge

    • ScarletDragon says:

@Joel The Alien how did you even started? I’ve been there for a while but I don’t get any clients

    • Joel The Alien says:

@ScarletDragon start by sending lots of buyer’s request offers you have a limit of 10 each day.
I’ve done 5000 so far (in 2 years) and make the gig impressions on your landing page exceptional

    • Freelanceverse - Adrian Probst says:

      Great advice!

  • Mohammed Abdallah says:

It would be absolutely amazing if you make a video about the different types of files a translator faces and how to deal with them and the types of files that need CAT tools for example.

  • Obed Boateng says:

thanks very much for this video…this was so practical and to the point😄

  • M O says:

Can you do a video about translation courses online, like if someone is interested in learning translation by taking (free) classes about it online, trying that and giving us your opinion 😊

    • Freelanceverse - Adrian Probst says:

Yes thats planned for this year for sure 🙂 it will just take time to make a comprehensive video on that. Stay tuned 🙂
