This week's video was a special one. I attempted to translate on One Hour Translation for one whole week. Make sure to watch till the end to see how much money I made. Unfortunately, it didn't exactly go as planned. Let me know in the comments if you work on Upwork and how it's going for you.

Great, insightful content as always, Adrian. Keep it up!
thanks Ali 🙂
I love your videos. I try to register the sites you mentioned before. So the other day I tried to translate on One Hour Translation but just like you there were enough translators for my language pairs 🙁
What language pairs were they?
@Freelanceverse – Adrian Probst Turkish-English
They did pay me on time every time. Regarding credits: they explain how everything works when you get started with them (the translator complaining about not having been paid after one week obviously didn’t go through the paperwork) and you can always check their conditions in their support page. You have to convert your credit and ask for the payment. Then, for the first payment, you’ll receive it at the end of the following month. For the following payments, you receive them 15 or 30 days after requesting them (not so sure anymore how much time), and you can request them either the 15th or at the end of the month. And don’t forget to send an invoice 🙂
And about the editing process: I haven’t edited myself for OHT (I only got translation tasks), so I can’t say for sure, but my translation work has been edited and I received some feedback from fellow translators, and I personally have received the full payment for each of the tasks I completed.
Awesome insights, thanks a lot, Antoine! So people who have language pairs that work should definitely signup with them while starting out 🙂
If the encouraged the translator to perform the work and did not fill out the papers, they cheated the translator
I’m a 19 Year old and I just started a formal job as an interpreter for a pretty… Exploiting company. I want to have another source of income and I applied for appen and lots of different freelance platforms, most of which are full of scammers. Would you recommend this platform for me?
Hi Daniel, hard to say. Some people in the comments seem to have had good experiences with them. Maybe as a side income yes, you can try it. But to build a sustainable business, I would look elsewhere
Thank you for the time creating this video. Very informative.
Thanks for watching!
Oh i love this! It sometime make me laught Adrian !
Thanks ! It’s good to show an authentic life of freelance translator.
I appreciated!
Brilliant 🙂
This video is gold. It helps me a lot.
Thanks so much!
Heyy, Does this platform provides the assignments or we have to place bids on the projects as we have to on other freelancing websites, and how frequently we get assignments in a week like how much.
Hopes for early replies.

Keep on going buddy, I think u r really a genuine person n true from inside, kepp on going, all the best.
B-)
Hi Ram, thanks a lot! 🙂 I think you have to check for jobs on here too, but since I never got to try it out, I cant tell you for sure.
Hello, @Heart beats! No, you don’t have to bid, you are waiting for assignments, the prices are fixed. At the beginning you have less translations but later when your rating increases assignments increase too. It also depends a lot on your language pair and, of course, of workload provided by customers. Good luck!
your channel helped me a lot !! as a Brazilian I really needed to work but with the pandemic it’s really difficult .but obg 👏👏👏
Thanks so much for the feedback ♥️ glad it helps you and good luck!
Ta conseguindo fazer grana com esse site mesmo?
I was on the verge of joining that translating platform as a freelance translator but after having watched your review about the site I came to the conclusion that it is pointless for those who want to translate for the company
Hi Abel, it works for some people as, you can see in the comment. I’d say try it out and build your own opinion if it 🙂
@Freelanceverse – Adrian Probst right , I will try it out then and see what happens .
Hola, he estado viendo tus videos, muchas gracias por todo el contenido de valor. Felicidades por el día del traductor!

“Gengo” is a Japanese word meaning “language”, and you were pronouncing it correctly with the hard G. 🙂
Oh interesting 🙂
Hey, Adrian thanks so much for this video and the other two, they are really insightful but did you stop making this series of videos and if yes then why? Thanks very much for your hard work.
I took a break because they are hard to make, but I am currently filming the next one 🙂 comes out in a couple weeks!
🙏 Precious advices
Thank you Mel
Thanks, I’m beginner I get so little job offers. I’m forced to teach to pay my bills but don’t like it. Yes niches are important not popular Jobs
I will not give a shot with a company that has a reputation of cutting down the money on purpose or even not paying at all. But thank you for the information!
Absolutely, I also would never work with them.
When it comes to a job like that, when you get the money from the website what about taxes? I live in Poland and I don’t really know how it works.
You have to pay income tax as a freelancer. You would have to register as a freelancer in your country and then research how the taxes work there. You will probably have to fill in a tax declaration at the end of the year.
@Freelanceverse – Adrian Probst ohhhh okay thank you very much
I am new to your channel but so far I find it very professional and useful. Already I feel I have learned a lot and hope to continue on that path. Keep up the good work!
That’s awesome, thank you, Andres!
