Hi, Adrian.
Thanks for the video. It is very useful to be in touch with what is new in the market.
I have a question and I would appreciate it if you could answer it. I am a freelance technical translator (from English and Italian to Brazilian Portuguese), and I would like to know if agencies value knowledge of literature and of ancient languages in a technical translator. What do you think about it? I am asking that because I know — at least a bit — English and Italian Literature, and I also know Latin and am studying Ancient Greek. Do you think this is worth mentioning in my CV, in my LinkedIn profile, or even in an email message?
Thank you again for your video and for your time.
Hi, Adrian. Thank you so much for this video and this channel, in general. It has been immensely helpful.
So, I’m a full-time football writer and editor for a sports infotainment website. For my undergraduate degree, my major was Computer Science and Engineering while my minor was English Literature. I have a rudimentary understanding of French and Italian, and I intend to further study and immerse myself in these two languages, in particular, so as to become fluent in them. I also plan to acquire the internationally-recognised certifications for both of them (DELF and CILS) at B2 levels, at least; languages are something I have had both a massive interest in and quite an aptitude for.
I’ve been considering freelance translation as something that I could do on the side with my full-time role. Would you suggest I take some translation courses and/or degrees on top of acquiring the language certifications before actively marketing myself available for work?
You got me. Lol! I am rewatching your video but I don’t have any clues how it seems so seamless. Good job AI!
Thanks for watching 🤩
That was creepy indeed.
