In this clip from the latest Langfocus video, I ask a Japanese speaker to try to read a Chinese sentence to see how well he can understand it.

      I posted a story on Instagram asking for people who would like to take part in the video. So they are Langfocus viewers, and Langfocus videos are narrated in English.

      I didn’t get many replies though. I think I accepted everybody who offered (4 people). For most languages I get 50-100 offers in a couple hours and I have to delete the story.

    他 has the meaning of “other” in Chinese too when written with “其” : “其他”

    “他” does not really mean “he”, I mean it’s commonly used as “he” due to the existence of “她” which means “she”. Even so, 他 is still a third person pronoun in general, doesn’t matter what the object or gender is
